What is SEC EDGAR?
SEC EDGAR is the US Securities and Exchange Commission's free public database of company filings such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks.

EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) is the SEC’s public system for company and investor filings. Anyone can search it for free at sec.gov.
What you can find
- Annual and quarterly reports (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 20-F for many foreign companies).
- Current reports on major events (Form 8-K) and their exhibits.
- Insider transactions (Form 4), large-holder reports (Schedules 13D/13G), and institutional holdings (Form 13F).
- Registration statements for new listings (Form S-1, F-1).
Structured data
EDGAR also offers machine-readable data: filing histories by company and XBRL financial data, which tags values such as revenue and net income so they can be compared over time.
