How this ranking works
Source: for each company, the proxy statement (Form DEF 14A, DEFR14A or DEFC14A) that first reported its latest fiscal year, on SEC EDGAR, pay-versus-performance table as tagged in XBRL under the SEC's pay-versus-performance rule. Total compensation is the Summary Compensation Table (SCT) total for the principal executive officer (the CEO), which counts stock and option awards at their grant-date value. Compensation actually paid revalues those awards at year-end or vesting and can be negative. Fiscal years differ by company; only years that ended on or after May 26, 2025 are ranked. CEO names are shown as each company tagged them, except where our automated check could not find the tagged name next to that total in the proxy's compensation table, or no name was tagged (both shown as "name not shown"). The median and "CEO ÷ other executives" (CEO total divided by the average SCT total of the other named executive officers) are our arithmetic. Companies covered are those with a company page here.
