Apple HomeView: Price, Release Date, Specs and Who Can Buy It

TL;DR: Apple announced HomeView on Oct. 13, 2026. It’s a smart home hub with a 7-inch screen, a speaker base and Apple’s new Siri AI. It costs $299 in the U.S., in both its tabletop and wall-mounted versions. Pre-orders opened the same day in six countries, and it ships on Friday, Nov. 13. It won’t be sold in the European Union; Apple says that’s because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there. The wall-mounted model needs a separately sold Schneider Home mount ($59.95 to $129.95) and power adapter. Using HomeView requires an iPhone or iPad on iOS or iPadOS 27.2 or later. Apple’s footnotes say Siri AI is “available in beta” on HomeView.

Everything below comes from Apple’s two press releases and the HomeView spec sheet, with the costs set side by side. For Apple’s most recent software update, see what iOS 27.0.1 fixes. More consumer-tech explainers are on the Tech & Security hub.

The two models cost the same, but the wall-mounted one isn’t complete at $299. Apple sells three Schneider Home mounts for it:

  • Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector: from $59.95, orderable now
  • Power Mount AC Wired: from $79.95, orderable now
  • Power Mount PoE Wired: $129.95, coming in early 2027

On mount prices alone, a wall setup therefore starts at $358.95 and reaches $428.95, by our arithmetic. Apple says the USB-C cable and power adapter are sold separately. MacRumors reports that ADT will offer professional installation.

Release date and countries

  • Oct. 13: Pre-orders open in the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India, online and in the Apple Store app.
  • Oct. 15: Pre-orders open in Singapore at 9 a.m. local time.
  • South Africa: Pre-orders through Apple Authorized Resellers.
  • Nov. 13: Both models available in all of those countries.
  • European Union: Not for sale. Apple says Siri AI “is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU” and that it is “working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward.”

Siri AI on HomeView launches in English only, in all eight launch countries. Apple says Canadian French will follow in a free software update.

What it needs to work

  • An iPhone or iPad: iOS 27.2 or later, or iPadOS 27.2 or later, plus Wi-Fi.
  • For personal requests: Siri AI can draw on Calendar, Messages and other apps only when a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad is running the latest software, with Siri AI turned on. Without one, Apple says HomeView still gets Siri AI’s world knowledge, conversation and music discovery.
  • For smart camera alerts: Recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles works “with a supported iCloud+ subscription” and compatible cameras.
  • Beta status: The press release footnote says “Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2.”

The spec sheet

From Apple’s technical specifications page:

  • Display: 7-inch (6.98-inch measured diagonally) Liquid Retina, 1088 × 1088 pixels at 220 ppi, True Tone, 0.3 to 500 nits
  • Chip: A18
  • Camera: 12MP Center Stage, for FaceTime video calls
  • Audio: Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos; four microphones; sound recognition for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, Thread
  • Sensors: ambient light, temperature and humidity, accelerometer
  • People: recognizes up to six users by face, each with their own Home Screen

Apple says HomeView and its A18 chip use “Secure Exclaves,” isolated runtimes that keep camera and microphone processing apart from the rest of the software.

What else Apple announced for the home

Alongside HomeView, Apple announced Apple Home Collection, accessories built with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric and set up through the Apple Home app. Apple says availability begins in December, with some items in early 2027. U.S. starting prices:

LG Video Doorbell Wired$249.95
LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In$299.95
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock$349.95
LG Floodlight Cam$399.95
LG Smart Thermostat / Schneider Home Smart Thermostat$199.95 each

Apple says these accessories need a home hub “such as Apple HomeView, HomePod, or Apple TV” for some features.

What could go right / What could go wrong

From Apple’s own terms and footnotes.

What could go right

  • Both models cost the same $299, and the tabletop version includes its own power adapter.
  • It works with existing Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories, as well as the new Home Collection.
  • Apple says Siri AI on HomeView doesn’t require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone for general questions and music.

What could go wrong

  • Not sold in the EU, and Siri AI is labeled beta at launch.
  • The wall-mounted version needs a separately bought mount and adapter, and the PoE mount isn’t due until early 2027.
  • Some features depend on extras: a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled device for personal requests, and an iCloud+ subscription for camera recognition.
